Next on Just One More Thing: “Ransom for a Dead Man”

Going way, way back for Columbo‘s second pilot, “Ransom for a Dead Man.” Lee Grant murders her husband (pretty much just for being a boring, okay guy), then tries to cover it up with an elaborate fake kidnapping. Attorney and writer Bob Ingersoll (The Law Is a Ass) and the mysterious “Jim” will be the guests.

  1. I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while. I think it’s a good one, and I hope you do too.

I was idly looking for something to watch on television the other day, and by God “Last Salute to the Commodore” was on a channel called “Hallmark Movies and Mysteries.” So I watched the last half-hour again. “Last Salute” reminds me of when I was younger and would fiddle with the controls on my parents’ stereo: what happens if I turn the bass way, way up, and the treble as low as possible? Now how does it sound if I do the opposite? What about the left-right balance? What resulted was sometimes awful, sometimes funny, and always weird.
